Dir/Mgr. Project Controls Dir/Mgr Project Controls Job Duties/Scope Of Work Senior Manager level; Accomplishes results through lower-level subordinate supervisors or experienced exempt employees. Directs subordinates based on general policies and management guidance. Work is reviewed on completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Interprets and executes policies that affect subordinate units. May head a centralized function. Functions as unit advisor; involved in daily operations only to resolve complex problems or meet schedules. Frequent contacts with internal and external individuals at all management levels. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings related to specific operations. Plans and prepares production schedules for business unit or organization. The Project Controls Manager is responsible for successfully integrating with the project teams to represent all aspects of resource loaded logic linked schedules. He/she also integrates with project teams to develop and evaluate major program cost estimates and extended budget projections to identify and quantify critical budgetary, cost, schedule, technical, and programmatic risk factors: Performs variance analysis, costing, budgeting, forecasting, and inventory and material analysis: Gathers relevant data, assesses its quality, apply costing models, and develop new costing algorithms when required: Researches and interprets complex technical, cost, and schedule information in order to develop applicable cost models. He/she may draw upon a background in baseline development and maintenance, including sound understanding of and/or the ability to manipulate project schedules and integrated cost estimates, as well as a firm grasp of the principles of earned value management and general project controls concepts. Work activities and deliverables are required to be provided in accordance with Department of Energy Orders 413.X and applicable DOE Guides.
