Designer Mechanical Designer Is all or any portion of the work associated with this position a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (stimulus)? – No COCS: T030 (Technical Specialist) CH PRC Project Supporting: Sludge Treatment Project Estimated Duration of Assignment: 4/5/10 – 12/31/10 Work Location: 825 Jadwin Avenue (Fed Bld) Richland, WA Background The Sludge Treatment Project (STP) is currently developing the preliminary design for retrieval of K Basin KOP sludge from fuel canisters, pretreatment of that sludge to a condition making it suitable for packaging into containers suitable for transport to the Canister Storage Building for interim storage. The sludge will be stored at an Interim Storage Facility on the Central Plateau in the 200 Area pending availability of shipment to a national repository. Task Scope and Deliverables This task provides for mechanical design services during the pretreatment & packaging of KOP Material during the Preliminary Design Phase and follow on scope associated with Final Design. Technical resource will be responsible for preparing design media associated with pretreatment mechanical equipment/systems and associated facility layouts. Duties consist of producing mechanical & piping system H series designs resulting from 3-D Models with an emphasis on Auto CAD drawing development. Deliverables will be design media consisting of engineering drawings, graphic support, and system test configurations as directed by project engineering to support the STP KOP Project Preliminary and Final Design Reports. Specific deliverables are to be produced to the detail consistent with the requirements stated in DOE Order 413.3A.
