CH PRC Project Supporting: SHS&Q/Conduct of Operations

Estimated Duration of Assignment: Six months

Estimated Hours Per Week: 40

Work Location: 2420 Stevens Richland, WA and various PRC project offices.

Job Duties: The activities required in this statement of work focus on implementation oversight and mentoring of a DOE 5480.19-compliant conduct of operations program to upgrade performance in this area for CHPRC projects.

Conduct of Operations mentor will provide review, evaluation and mentor/coaching of operations, D&D, maintenance activities, work control practices, and safety basis implementation processes across the CHPRC. The Conduct of Operations mentor coaching activity for CHPRC personnel will use U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Order 5480.19, Conduct of Operations Requirements for DOE Facilities, and PRC-PRO-OP-696, Conduct of Operations. Mentor coaching will focus on the daily regimen of Conduct of Operations as they relate to execution of field activities.

Required Qualifications: Professional individual with vast experience in nuclear facility design, construction, testing, training, operations, and maintenance should be considered for selection as Conduct of Operations mentor. This extensive experience requirement can be met by the individual having worked in the commercial nuclear utility industry, Department of Energy nuclear weapons complex, or the Department of Defense military nuclear operations. Conduct of Operations mentor attributes must also include extensive oral and written communication skills, leadership/coaching abilities and team-building experience. Due to the nature of the duties and task assignments to be placed on the Conduct of Operations mentor, knowledge of and past participation in DOE nuclear operational readiness review processes will be a fundamental Mentor selection criterion.

Other Desirable Qualifications: Radiological worker and applicable OSHA training is desired to enable observation of work execution in hazardous areas.
