  <description><![CDATA[InfoTech Resources is seeking candidates for a Manager (Network Services) direct hire opening in Jackson, MS.  The Manager, Network Services is responsible for the efficient operation of the Network Services Department, the Corporate LAN, the server environment and associated communications facilities. The Manager, Network Services develops and manages project plans, generates Information Technology research and position documents, and develops network policies and procedures.  The Manager, Network Services works closely with both vendors and business users to evaluate, recommend, and implement the proper technical solutions to enhance business value of operations and works with the application teams early in the applications development lifecycle to define resource consumption requirements.
Major Responsibilities / Activities:
1.   Design and Support of the Corporate LAN and WAN
	Works with the Network Engineering staff and vendors to design, install and maintain the Corporate LAN environment.
	Works closely with other areas including Web Development, Technical Support, and vendors to design, install and maintain the server systems.
	Works closely with other divisional/departmental management to ensure an understanding and assist in implementing tactical plans.
	Coordinates activities with Corporate Security to insure appropriate security measures and procedures are implemented.
	Responsible for server, LAN and WAN problem diagnosis and resolution. Executes the Alert and Escalation procedures to insure the proper problem notifications are made.

2.   Selection, Installation Support of the Corporate Desktop Systems
	Manages the Desktop Support Technicians to select, implement and support the corporate desktop and laptop system configurations.
	Works with the business areas to select appropriate desktop applications.
	Coordinates the desktop configuration with Corporate Security to develop and implement corporate security standards.

3.   Provides periodic reporting and monitoring of LAN and server utilization and availability.
	Provides monthly executive level overviews of resources utilized, areas of concern, recommendations, etc.
	Participates in the long-term capacity planning process and technology upgrades as needed to stay cost effective and to meet business needs.
	Works with Director, Data Center Operations to establish and maintain tactical plans at the division/department levels, which support our corporate strategic vision.

4.   Works closely with both vendors and business users to evaluate, recommend, and implement the proper technical solutions to enhance business value of operations:
	Remains current with regard to enhancements to currently installed LAN and server hardware and software components.


5.	Works closely with the development teams early in the development lifecycle to define resource consumption requirements:
	Makes a recommendation on the procurement of new resources  LAN, server, storage, etc. based on trends, business growth, and applications under development
	Analyzes the impact of new technology on existing and future capacity.

General Manager, Technical Support Requirements:
	Accountable for establishing an environment built upon the discipline of project management.
	Accountable for the development, execution, and maintenance of processes and procedures defining how members of the Network Services group conduct their professional responsibilities.
	Accountable for establishing and maintaining strong professional relationships with end user community.
	Must gain knowledge of health insurance industry changes as they occur, in addition to a positive understanding of corporate strategic goals.
	Must be available for installation and maintenance activities outside scheduled business hours.
	Will be on call 24 x 7 for problem notification and management.
	Accountable for the routine renewal of products/maintenance used by Network Services and payment/reconciliation of invoices.

Job-Specific Requirements: 
	Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field is required  
	At least 5 years of experience with LAN, WAN and server technologies.
	5 Years experience with Cisco network hardware components is preferred
	5 Years experience with the Microsoft Windows Server operating system is required.
	Practical experience with UNIX and/or Linux is preferred
	Prior supervisory experience is required
	Must be able to create written documents that effectively present recommendations, an analysis of problems or communicate the current status of the system.
	Strong analytical, mathematical and statistical skills required.
	Must have knowledge of and the ability to learn and apply Project Management Methodologies.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
	Provide Level 1 and 2 technical support for application and system problems, in an accurate and timely response to users needs or inquires. 
	Analyze and make recommendations that resolve software and hardware problems. Aid users in application design and interfacing. 
	Must be able to ensure security of the AS/400 and LAN platforms, develop and maintain security standards.

	Monitoring of system management along with system problem resolution.
